I had a blast getting to know Meagan & Matt on their engagement shoot! Megan is so real and full of personality and her smile is bigger than life. Matt is sweet and loving and so taken with that smile of hers. Together they are the perfect and I am the fortunate one to shoot their wedding next June! Here they are...too cute! ;)

Michelle & Blake Wedding

8.23.2008
Private Residence
Perfect in every way..from the natural floral arrangements that adorned the tables to the enormous white tent placed alongside a vegetable garden. Michelle and Blake exchanged vows on a dock alongside a river as guests watched below in white chairs on the sprawling grounds. Perfect in every way...the love that they share was witnessed by their closest friends and family and tears of joy flowed as they became husband and wife at last. A dream wedding it was and I was honored to be chosen as their photographer. I wish you guys the best as you start your lives together!

Lorraine & David Engagement

Lorraine and David became engaged on August 4, 2008, in Ann Arbor, MI. David took Lorraine out for a fantastic dinner at Mediterrano restaurant, and later that night he proposed beneath the stars as they walked their dog, Molly. I shot their engagement session at Nichols Arboretum in Ann Arbor and it was truly a beautiful night! Molly accompanied us and made her way into a few pictures-how could I resist that sweet face?!!

Christina & Dan Wedding

8.2.08
Troy Marriott
Christina and Dan met at work in 1999. Christina was so shy that she actually had a friend approach Dan to let him know she had a crush on him. As fate would have it, Christina locked her keys in her car one day and while waiting for help ran into Dan in the hallway. They started talking and the rest is history! 7 years later on her 27th birthday Dan asked her to marry him.
It was a beautiful wedding and I was honored to be their photographer. Congrats you guys-I wish you a lifetime of love, smiles, and togetherness.

Stacey & David Wedding

8-1-08
Private Residence
Sweltering heat, humidity and rain showers-we battled it all on Stacey and David's wedding day but it was still an unforgettable celebration! David's grandparents hosted the ceremony on their property and when I drove up I couldn't believe my eyes-a photographer's dream setting!
The ceremony took place on an island surrounded by old oak trees and wild flowers near a beautiful gazebo covered with Ivy. Stacey looked absolutely gorgeous as she was escorted over the bridge by her father and David couldn't take his eyes off her. They giggled as they recited their vows in the rain. They say rain is a sign of good things to come-I think they are off to a good start! ;)

Copper & Pink

How would you make pink work for a fall wedding?
The designers over at http://www.snippetandink.blogspot.com/ have answered that question by putting together the most beautiful inspiration board!
Board #269: Copper & Pink
There's no reason pink has to be set aside for fall weddings; just pair it with a more typical fall color. Here I've used copper, and the pink almost ends up being more of an accent color, which I think works. Also, this color combination is a nice twist on the ubiquitous pink and brown, with copper's ruddy metallic patina lending more complexity than a flat chocolate. How would you make pink work for a fall wedding?

Maya's 1st Birthday!

8-16-08
Cinderella's Enchanted Ball
And that's exactly what it was..complete with Cinderella herself from Fantasy Tea Party in Brighton. I was so excited when Maya's mom called me and asked if I shot Children's parties..OF COURSE I do and I could not have enjoyed myself more than with little Maya. Being the mother of two little boys who are all about Thomas the train, trucks, dirt and bugs, I was completely taken with Maya. Her long eyelashes and rosy cheeks, her bedroom bathed in pink, her sweet little pastel dresses, I could have taken pictures of her all day!
Well here she is....little Maya....big brown eyes and all!

Kayla & Phillip Wedding

7-19-08
Private Residence
Phil proposed on a chilly evening in April at Nichol's Arboretum (The Arb), in Ann Arbor after sending Kayla around town on a scavenger hunt. Kayla was completely surprised. Phil had sent her on a scavenger hunt through Ann Arbor two years prior and it ended at a pair of Nike's. Kayla really thought this hunt was ending at a dinner date. Little did she know it was a dinner date for the rest of her life.
Here are a few of my favorites....

Callie & Ryan Wedding

7-12-2008
Meeeting House Grand Ballroom
Ryan and Callie met in High School. Ryan was an A+ student and Callie was too busy socializing to be worried about grades. She spent two years copying off him before they finally exchanged phone numbers and started spending time together. Ryan thinks it was his amazing dance moves (and I can testify to that after seeing him at the wedding) that won her over but she says it was his genuine kindness, determination and sense of humor. Whatever it was-on July 12, 2008 it was shining bright as they exchanged vows at St. Patrick's church in Brighton. Thank you Callie and Ryan for allowing me to be your wedding photographer, it was an honor getting to know you and your families and I wish you a lifetime of happiness! -K

Benjamin

My Best Buddy
I couldn't let a day pass without paying special tribute to Benny, my best friend in the world! Yesterday was one of the saddest days of my life, it was the day I said goodbye to my Benjamin, he died from kidney failure. I could tell so many stories of the joy he brought to my life but the bottom line is he loved me unconditionally-through my years as a single girl when it was just he and I-he was my faithful companion and confidant. I will always remember his little face and expressive brown eyes, his never ending patience with my three year old twin boys who came into his world and turned it upside down, and the unconditional, devoted love he gave to me each day of his life. My heart is broken benny, I will miss you and love you always!

Angela & John Wedding

7-5-2008
The Inn at St. John's
I fell in love with Angela & John when I shot their engagement session last year! They are without a doubt the nicest people you would ever want to meet, the kind that you want to become close friends with because just hanging out with them makes you feel so at ease, happy and relaxed. When I was editing the pictures I couldn't take my eyes off of Angela-THAT FACE-sooo beautiful!! John and Angela~I do hope we keep in touch and thanks so much for allowing me to take part in your special day, you are truly deserving of the incredible love and passion you share with one another!
