Friends in France

As I mentioned in an earlier post my brother lived in France and made some wonderful friends with whom he had to share with Jason and I. Without ever meeting us Laurence put together a beautiful afternoon lunch gathering with a group of the most wonderful people I think I've ever met. I now know why my brother loves them so much and anticipates moving back to Provence one day! Yves met us at our hotel in the morning then took us to an incredible market in Sur la Sorgue-a beautiful town filled with antiques and an aroma of freshly baked bread. After a drive through beautiful country roads that you only see in movies and narrow winding cobblestone streets fit only for the European cars we arrived at Laurence and Robert's home. We were greeted with a feast of mussels steamed in olive oil and herbs de provence, tomato and basil tart, fresh organic salad with balsamic dressing and then a platter of delicious cheeses. We sat on the terrace until sunset enjoying food, laughter, stories, and wine. I have to say it was the best part of our trip and we will cherish the memories!

Meagan & Robert

5-24-08
I had so much fun with Meagan and Robert on their wedding day-they were so excited yet relaxed and their sweet interaction with each other made it obvious that they were meant to be. I asked Robert to tell me about Meagan and what made their relatioinship so special and this was his response:
"Meagan and I met in high school but didn't start dating until we were in college. Our personalities just clicked and I found my self being able to talk to her about anything. She is one of the most supportive people I've ever met and although we don't have an ideal relationship with the long bouts of separation, I have never once second guessed our commitment to one another. She has a great heart and caring nature and is everything I could have asked for in a partner. Most importantly when I look at her I know that this is the woman that I want to be the mother to my children."

Bonjour! J'adore Paris....

We are back from a wonderful trip to France! What can I say about Paris???? It is so much more than I expected-a beautiful, romantic, culture filled city that I could've spent weeks in! Jason and I usually find that we prefer the countryside to the larger cities but Paris is different. Our last night in Paris was magical! We strolled the parks around the Eiffel tower, taking cover from the rain under large trees while staring up at the beautifully lit tower which lights up the city. Across from us a couple sat cuddled under a tree, the rain falling all around them, surrounded by candles and a midnight picnic for two-what more can I say?

Off to Provence....

We are on our way to Provence for the next week or so so I will be out of touch until we return. I am so excited to relax amongst lavender fields and beautiful countryside, meander through old cobblestone streets, and shop flea markets with items you seem to only see in
magazines. My brother and his wife lived in Avignon a couple of years ago so we will be the guests of his french friends who are hosting a truly french dinner experience for us. I have an 8 hour plane ride to brush up on some college french!! I will be checking in while I'm there and hopefully will be able to post some photos from out travels...Au revoir!!
